We all love movies where good triumphs over evil; the cowboy in the white hat [good guy] beats the cowboy in the black hat [bad guy]. In Westerns, just when it looks like the Indians are going to wipe out the wagon train, the US Calvary charges in to save the day. Whether an enemy soldier waves a white flag or a criminal drops his weapon and raises his hands, both are saying, "I give up. I surrender."
The amazing paradox of the Gospel is that you win by surrendering. "Normally" in this world surrender means losing but in the Kingdom of Heaven, surrender is wining. The Bible tells us before we can accept Christ as our Savior, we must surrender control of our lives to Him. Satan would have people believe that if we allow Christ to rule over us, He will not allow us to have any fun.
But the reality is, it is only by surrendering will you find freedom and joy.
