In my last blog, I spoke about the importance of husbands praying with their wives. Having spoken with many husbands, I find that though they agree praying with their wife is a good thing, most do not. Speaking from personal experience, it is one of the most difficult things a couple can consistently do. Part of the problem is that men do not understand the dynamics of praying together. Being a spiritual leader is more than imparting information to your wife. Leading your wife spiritually is just that, walking side-by-side with her in the realities of life. Leading in marriage is not done from out front. It is done for her side.
Jesus clearly says where 2 or 3 gather in His name, He is in their midst. The most intimate gathering of 2 is in marriage. You are leading your wife spiritually when you come together before the Lord. You and your wife come before the Lord and He will provide the content of your prayers directly for His Word.
Praying together is one of the most important things you can do. It will build intimacy in our marriage.
