Obedience First

Have you ever had to do something but you did not feel like it? Of course, we all have. It may have been creating a lengthy report for school or your boss may ask to work overtime. Maybe your father "asks" you to mow the lawn but their is a football game on television that you have been waiting to see.
Then of course there is your spiritual life. Sometimes we do not "feel" like being obedient to His Word. Obedience is not always easy. We can get distracted and forget our calling. So, what do we do when you don't feel like obeying?

We are not in this alone, God will help us. If we will seek it, God will give us the power and the desire to do what pleases Him. "For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him." Philippians 2:13 (NLT)

Often it is in doing God's will that we gain the desire to do it. It is a fact that we can often act our way into feeling much faster than we can feel our way into acting. So, the next time you struggle with obedience, decide you will do what He wants and trust Him to place within you the desire to do His will.
