There was a time when Christianity was held in high esteem but that is no longer the case. Today it is ridiculed and is the object of late night comedians. Unfortunately, the church and individual believers has brought some of it upon itself. If you were to study the lives of the early church and listed the characteristics of their lives and then compared that to the lives of modern day Christianity, we would see a vast difference.
A big part of the problem is that we do not live what we say we believe; i.e. putting others first before yourself, ministering to the poor and needy, sharing the Good News of the Gospel, etc. We have lost our credibility by not living as Jesus Christ would if He were here today. 1 John 2:6 commands us "Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did."
I entitled this blog Radical Christianity because if our lives matched the life of Christ, it would radically change us. And if the Church applied this principle, it would radically change our communities and our nation.
