No One Likes ____________

When an employer announces that things are going to be different in the company. When a pastor tells his congregation that they going to attempt ministry in a new way. When Facebook introduces a new format. All these scenarios involve a subject most people fear: Change. The very mention of the word make some church people stampede like wildebeest being chased by lions. Most people are not comfortable with change. They like the comfort of "sameness."

Someone said, "The only person that likes change is a baby with a dirty diaper."  While that is probably overstated, most people do resist change. But change is inventible Ecc. 3:1 Change is a part of life. While I do not like the fact that I am becoming more mature (older) I cannot stop the process. We change jobs, move to another area of the country, we even change churches.

But are we changing in our spiritual lives? The Bible makes it very clear that we must "grow" in our faith. 1 Peter 2:2  The writer of Hebrews rebuke the church for their lack of spiritual maturity. Hebrews 5:12 "In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food!"

Jesus Christ came into this world not to make us "better" people. He did not come to tweak our personality. He came to totally transform our lives. Yes, He came to CHANGE us! Please do not resist the process, allow Him to make you into the person He created you to be!
