Truth

For those of us who have been in church most of our lives, we have seen in a big change in preaching. I am not talking about style but subject matter. Question: When was the last time you heard a message on hell? Judgment? Greed? The fact is that Jesus Christ spoke more on hell than heaven! Jesus spoke about the coming judgment more than God's love!

Some preachers do not preach Biblical truth because truth is not readily accepted in most congregations. As Jack Nicholson said in the movie, A Few Good Men,”You cannot handle the truth.” If you speak the truth, you maybe branded as being narrow minded or intolerant. Jesus told the truth and the Jewish leaders sought to kill Him. John 8:40

Hearing the truth is often painful. I once had a doctor tell me I had cancer. I am glad he told me the truth, even though it wasn't easy to accept. Truth cannot change, it remains the same and does not change with time or circumstances. What the Bible classified as sin fifty years ago is still sin today.

Truth is sometimes painful but it can also be profitable. Jesus said that truth can set us free. John 8:32. Truth cannot be changed; you can only accept or reject it. The choice is yours.
