From the very first, this book grabbed my attention. If you have had a relationship with Christ very long, you will quickly indentify with the author. This book will challenge you to leave the routine, stale walk that many Christians have fallen into.
The book is divided into two parts. In Part One, Weems develops the idea that most Christians have settled for "I have to" relationship with God instead of a "want to" relationship. His statement, "*Guarding the fire of devotion in my heart is the most foundational spiritual discpline of my Christian*" really opened my eyes.
Part Two gives you The 21-Day Plan, which goes into detail of the different types of fast, how to prepare, and suggestions of additional tools to help.
I recommend this book to the new Christian and the seasoned saint. Great book, easy to read and understand. I want to go back and read it again!
