Pass It On

During the Thanksgiving holiday, I took the time to paint my grandson’s bedroom. I do not consider myself a professional painter but I have had plenty of experience and have learned a lot about painting, some through trial and error.
Brice, my younger grandson (11), asked if he could help paint. With a little hesitation, I agreed. To my surprise, he was quite helpful. While painting, I started to share with him some of things I had learned about painting. He seemed eager to learn and I found myself thoroughly enjoying imparting my knowledge.
The next day a thought came to me. If sharing knowledge on a “secular” level was so rewarding, think how awesome it would be to share spiritual truths! It is amazing how many opportunities present themselves during a day to teach spiritual truths to our children and grandchildren. Deuteronomy 6:7 says “tell them to your children over and over again. Talk about them all the time, whether you’re at home or walking along the road or going to bed at night, or getting up in the morning.”
The spiritual future of our children is our responsibility. If we do not teach them, who will? If we do not teach them now, when will we? Our children are with for such a little time, so start today sharing what you have learned on your spiritual journey
