First? Or Only?

How many times have you (or I) prayed, “Oh, Lord, I want you to be first in my life!” It sounds so good. But if we analyze it, what we mean is that God is first and everything else lines up behind that. I think God is trying to get us to see: He is not the most  important thing, He is the ONLY thing. He is it. He is your life – not just a part of it or even the most important thing in your life. He is everything.

How would a girl feel if her boyfriend told her she was first in his life and in the next breath said all his other girlfriends come after her? First? Or Only? Paul said it this way “When Christ, who is your life, appears…” Dwell on those words. He is your life. And when your life becomes totally focused on Him – when everything becomes that one thing and when that focus on Him begins to impact how you do everything; your life will be radically transformed.
