What is on your mind?

Recently I read a verse in the bible and I saw something I had never seen before! (Happens alot) In 2 Timothy 1:7 we read "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." The human mind has a powerful imagination than create a worst-case-scenario. i.e. The doctor phones and requests you come in that he might go over the tests he just conducted on you. Immediately your thoughts jump to conclusions: This cannot be good!

The verse just mentioned tells us the power that conquers fear is a sound mind. We maintain a sound mind be "bringing every thought into obedience of Christ." (2 Cor. 10:5) It amazes me that most Christ-followers allow their thoughts to have a "free reign" in their lives. We need to ask ourselves this question: Does this thought have any basis in reality? [Satan is a liar and deciever] If that thought has no foundation in Scripture, take it captive.

How different would your life be if you could simply take your thoughts captive for Christ? How much better would you sleep? How much joyful would your life be? A mind centered on the truth of God is the key to peace and not fear.
