What Does God Look Like?

A Sunday School student was intently drawing a picture when his teacher stop at his table? She asked, "What are you drawing?" He replied, "It is a picture of God." Amused but not wanting him to be 'misguided' told him that no one has seen God. Without looking up, he said, "They will when I finish my picture."

Artists for centuries has given us their concept of what Jesus Christ looked like. I recently had the privilege of watching an artist do a "hand" painting of Jesus. It was remarkable, but still it was only his idea. Jesus once said to his disciples that seeing Him was the same as seeing God the Father,

Recently, our grandson stayed in our home for a week. I overheard my wife's phone conversation to our son, she said "Having him here was like having you here again." He was a reflection of his father. The same is true of us spiritually. Our lives should remind people of our Heavenly Father.  Just as the moon does not produce its own light but reflects the light of the sun, so should we reflect Jesus Christ in our lives. Mt. 5:16
