How Close Are You?

One of the interesting things about people is they have a thing called personal space. Personal space is the region surrounding a person which they regard as psychologically theirs. Permitting a person to enter personal space and entering somebody else's personal space are indicators of perception of the relationship between the people. [Wikipedia]

Though it varies from person to person, personal space is between 1.5 to 4 feet. When people get "too close" we often feel uncomfortable. Which got me to thinking about our relationship with God. Could that be one reason that many of us do not have a more intimate relationship? Do really feel the comfortable in His presence? After all, who is responsible for creating the closeness?

Before you answer, I would suggest that WE are responsible for the intimacy in our relationship with God. John 4:8 Rev. 3:20 We have as much of God as we want. God has done everything necessary for us to have a rich, rewarding, and fulfilling relationship with Him. But we will take the time and make the effort to build such a relationship?
