Once again we have seen the
collision between them the world’s philosophy and the Christian world
view. Of course, I am speaking of the “Chick-Fil-A”
controversy. The CEO of Chick-Fil-A
stated publicly that his company was based about Biblical principles.
Therefore, they did not agree with “same sex” marriage but believed marriage
should be between a man and woman.
The boycott came because
Chick-Fil-A did not agree with those who held a different viewpoint on the subject. The homosexual community quickly attacked the
company saying they hated gays, that the company was homophobic.
Most people have difficulty
separating the person from their actions.
We are commanded by scripture to love all people, no matter what their lifestyle. But loving people does not mean we condone actions
that are condemned by God. [Lev. 18:22-23; Lev. 20:13; Romans 1:26-27] Christians,
while not accepting a person’s sinful lifestyle, can accept the person. We must
remember that homosexuality is not the only sin condemned by God.
While the media and other groups want
to paint Christians with a wide brush, the fact remains that though we may not
be politically correct or “tolerant”; we are not hate mongers.
